The daytime temperatures are climbing again, at a time of year when they really should be falling.
As different countries suffer heatwaves – over 20ºC in parts of Alaska, these temperature effects are not universal across continents.
This week the plums have started to fall off, so I decided that I would begin the task of dismembering the broken bough and begin picking the plums.
There are still severe heat warning in place into next week, but I think here in Dol, while we may just exceed 36ºC, that is about as high as we will get for the moment.
I was up early and wandered along the dewy path up to St Michael’s Church to watch the first rays of the sun climb above the Dinaric Alps, above Makarska.
